The role

As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you’ll take ownership of key areas within our purchase ledger function — from processing supplier invoices and resolving discrepancies, to supporting management accounts and ensuring all data is accurate and up to date. You’ll be confident working independently, while also collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure all finance processes run smoothly.

What you’ll be doing

• Recording and processing supplier purchases accurately across systems.

• Managing supplier relationships and resolving queries or invoice discrepancies.

• Ensuring VAT invoices are compliant and purchases are correctly authorised.

• Preparing and processing timely payments in line with credit terms.

• Overseeing ledger accuracy and investigating any anomalies.

• Supporting credit card reconciliation and expense processing.

What we’re looking for  

• Experience in a purchase ledger or finance assistant role, ideally within a busy team.

• Confidence using finance systems such as Sage and Excel.

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with excellent communication.

• Someone who’s flexible, collaborative, and motivated by doing things well.
